Art Project “Can You Hear Me?”

Three women from different cultures and with diverse perspectives are leading a women's project in Mönchengladbach, Germany. They are committed to promoting the acceptance of women in our society, playfully exploring their femininity, and strengthening their self-esteem.

To powerfully express their stories, their past, and their visions for the future, they have chosen art.

Viewers are free to read the artwork like a book, to understand the images and messages as a unified expression of independent women, or simply to pause, smile, and enjoy the moment of contemplation.

The women's project was initially conceived as an idea, without a title, by Hülya Cimen in 2011. In April 2018, the artist gave the project a name and invited two other female artists to join her and translate their thoughts and messages onto the canvas. Independently of one another, they represent self-assured women who are proud of themselves, their opinions, and their bodies.

The project planning will pave the way for more cultures, women's initiatives, or institutions and will hopefully contribute internationally to strengthening the self-esteem of every woman.
